Stories from My Work

Personal recollections from years of teaching and support, with identifying details omitted for privacy.

The Effort That Stayed With Him

Many years ago, I helped a twelve-year-old boy prepare for and pass his first oral exam. When we met again more than two decades later, he told me that what he remembered most was how hard I had tried to help him succeed.

That conversation reminded me how deeply a person can remember the care and effort someone invested in them.

Seeing Possibility

I once began working with a boy who had often been overlooked. I saw potential he could not yet recognize in himself and devoted time and care to helping him develop it.

In less than two years, he became an outstanding student. Years later, he still expresses gratitude for my belief in him during that time.

Believing in Himself Again

A father once told me that my support had helped his son regain belief in himself.

Those words stayed with me. They express something I care deeply about in my work: helping a person recognize their own worth and begin to see possibilities ahead.
